A Centaur – photography montage

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

This is an A1 limited edition print of A Centaur by Emma Plunkett which has just gone on sale, in it’s various sizes, in the art gallery e-shop. Frolicking in the montage of this photograph, in an ever so floral meadow, is the soulfully voiced Maighréad Neligan as the human part of the centaur. Enjoying the wild flowers of spring time, in the country side of Torvizcon, Andalucía, she is posing for an art picture but is ready to bolt at any second!

St. Christopher – photography montage

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

I made this new limited edition art print of the well loved St. Christopher, available to buy in all sizes now, from my art gallery e-shop. This picture is created from many a photograph, some taken of the Guadal Feo river, which bursts it banks this year! His strength and perseverance are what make him the most popular of all saints, although his story is mostly legend!

Fish – art painting

Monday, March 29th, 2010

I have been having an enjoyable encounter with sea fishing recently and as expected, my art has been influenced directly by my experiences, I have painted pictures of the very thing I was trying but failing to catch. The rest of these splashy water colour fish can be seen in my art gallery e-shop, by clicking the link.

Abstract Expressionism

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

During a recent get together with my old college friend Grant Smaldon, he patiently opened me up to the wonders of abstract expressionism, where the viewer takes time to go into the painting to see what is there, rather than the painting telling the story to the viewer by use of form and symbols. These new paintings remind me of my favourite view from my home. What do they tell you? To see more please visit my online painting gallery.
