Taller Vimaambi Opening Night Photos

April 7th, 2011

This latest exhibition in Taller Vimaambi art centre includes watercolour paintings, photo montages and sculptures. There is a really gorgeous back room, with cushions on seats, where they have film nights and do performances of flamenco every weekend. Here I am showing my video art including “El Afilador” a collaboration with Suzy Jones and “PaSeAR”, a film I edited with Charley Case. The opening night was great fun, lots of people came, lots of laughs were had and here are some photos!

Emma Plunkett’s February Art Newsletter

March 1st, 2011

In this months art newsletter I introduce a new piece of sculpture and relate how insect art corresponds to female sexuality. Praying mantis, pictured below is the subject of the main discussions because she is so sexually alluring whilst having that terrible habit of eating her mate. A dangerous female predator indeed. I have made her with a huge pout, seeking out a kiss, massive knockers, her vagina is detailed and can be displayed if she is hung from her front foot and she is all muscle!
